NOTICE OF ELECTION 

2026 CONSTITUTIONAL DELEGATES 

 

TO ELECT DELEGATES TO THE 39TH UAW CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION HELD JUNE 15 – 18, 2026 IN DETROIT, MI 

**Voters must vote for the Delegates within their respective units.** 

 

SEVEN (7) DELEGATES WILL BE ELECTED FROM THE UNITS AS FOLLOWS 

Unit #1 – Two (2) Delegates; Unit #10 – Two (2) Delegates; Unit #14 – One (1) Delegate; 

 

Independent Units #2, 7, 9, 17, 18, 23, 25, 27, 28, 30, 32, 35, 36, 44, 51, 54, 57, 59, 61, 62, 70, 76, 78, 84, 86, 91, 92, 93, 95, 97, 98, 99, 831, 832 – Two (2) Delegates 

 

ALTERNATE DELEGATES: 

Alternate Delegates to the 39th UAW Constitutional Convention will be the next highest vote total of each Delegate ballots. 

 

NOMINATIONS: 

All members who have been in continuous good standing in the International Union for twelve (12) months immediately prior to MONDAY, JUNE 1, 2026, and in Local 412 for three (3) months immediately prior to MONDAY, JUNE 1, 2026, are eligible and nominated for Delegate to the 39th UAW Constitutional Convention. 

 

Members of new Units of Local 412 that have been dues paying Units for less than one (1) year may be eligible for exemptions from the one (1) year rule. Members of new Units who desire further clarification on this matter may contact the Local Union for an interpretation. 

 

Any eligible members desiring to accept nominations as a Delegate to the Convention must submit their written acceptance not before TUESDAY, APRIL 14, 2026, and not later than 1:00 P.M., TUESDAY, APRIL 21, 2026. Acceptances for Delegate to the Convention MUST contain the following information: his/her commonly known name as he/she desires it to appear on the ballot and his/her Unit number

 

Acceptance must be submitted to CRAIG KINNUNEN, LOCAL 412 ELECTION COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON at amy@uaw412.org or hand delivered to UAW Local 412, 2005 Tobsal Ct., Warren, MI 48091 prior to the closing of nominations at 1:00 PM TUESDAY, APRIL 21, 2026

 

The Election Committee will meet with the candidates at 2:00 PM TUESDAY, APRIL 21, 2026, AT UAW LOCAL 412 HALL. At this meeting, a drawing will be held to determine candidate position on the ballot. If a Candidate or Representative is absent, an Election Committee Member will represent the Candidate in the drawing. The Election Committee will also answer any questions on election procedures. 

 

Any member may nominate any other member he or she desires for any specific office established in the election. Where a member chooses to nominate another member, they would be required to notify the Election Committee of their nomination in writing within the specified nominating period. They would also be required to notify the member they had nominated for the specific office, so that their nominee will be aware of the deadline. If a member is nominated and the nominator fails to notify the nominee, such failure will not invalidate or excuse the member’s responsibility to accept such office or position to which they were nominated in writing within the established deadline period

 

ELECTION TO BE HELD AS FOLLOWS 

DATE: TUESDAY, APRIL 28, 2026 

PLACE: UAW LOCAL 412 HALL 

TIME: 6:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M. 

 

LIMITED ABSENTEE BALLOTS: 

Please refer to the UAW Constitution, Page 201, Article 38, Section 10(b). 

 

RUN-OFF ELECTION: 

In the event of a Run-Off Election, it will be held TUESDAY, MAY 5, 2026, same time and location.
