Kenneth Daniel Suda, 88, of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away on July 6, 2024, after a valiant, long and determined, courageous, battle with cancer.
Ken was born on February 28, 1936, to Daniel and Pauline (Sloboda) Suda in Detroit, Michigan. After enlisting and serving in the Army, he attended college. Ken began his career designing chasis for the Chrysler Corporation. As a member of Local 412 in The United Automobile Workers Union where he served as president and representative to UAW International. On May 21, 1983, Ken married Diane Haakenson in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Ken was outgoing and inquisitive with an adventurous spirit. From beekeeping and home brewing, to building sail boats and flying model planes, his love of hobbies never stopped.
Ken took pride in piloting his own Mooney airplane and learned to play piano at the age of 60.
He and Diane shared 20 enjoyable summers of Alaska fishing, clamming, and catching crabs and shrimp. He was an avid reader and enjoyed long walks with his dog. He loved his dogs and would do anything for them. Ken hosted countless cook-outs for friends and relatives. We’ll miss his hot steaks and cold refreshments. But most of all, we’ll miss Ken.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, David Suda and Harry Suda. He is survived by his wife Diane Suda; his children, Kenneth Suda (Brenda) and Karen Greenhalge (Scott); grandchildren, Nicole Arvin (Chris), Daniel Suda (Meghan), Christopher Suda, Lauren Davison (Hunter) and Austin Greenhalge (Jessica); ten great grandchildren; Brothers and sisters-in-law, Jane and Mark Docken, Donald and Kathy Haakenson and Clair and Linda Haakenson; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
There have been no services scheduled at this time.
