Workshop Series: "Our Union, the Global Economy, & the Law"

This workshop series will build members' understanding of how the current global economy, consumerism, and legislation affect us as union members.  Major topics this series will tackle:

• Globalization
• Ethical consumerism for union members, and specifically how to buy union-made products in the USA
• Relevant laws for union members, including FMLA, Worker's Compensation, unemployment, and more

Prerequisites: None.

Class will meet every Wednesday for 4 weeks, starting on October 2nd.  Morning and evening sessions are available.  Participants must attend 3 out of 4 sessions in order to receive a certificate.  Certificates will be handed out during graduation on Tuesday, October 29th at 10AM-12PM for the morning session students, and 5-7PM for the evening session students.

Morning classes meet from 10am-12pm.  Evening classes meet from 5pm-6pm.  Sessions take place on October 2, 9, 16, 23.

Participants MUST register through their local union in order to attend classes.  There is no cost for attending these classes.  An officer of the local union must verify that the participant is a UAW Region 1 member in good standing.
