The UAW Region 1 Women’s Advisory Council is hosting a special virtual event on Saturday, June 26th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event, “Empower Women, Develop the Nation!” will celebrate women in leadership in our region and encourage women to run for elected office. Featured speakers include women leaders holding local, state, and federal offices representing Region 1:
- Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence
- Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin
- State Sen. Stephanie Chang
- State Rep. Mari Manoogian
- Oakland County Commissioner Angela Powell
- Warren City Council Member Angela Rogensues
Leaders on our Women’s Council will also present on organizing, the PRO Act, the role of precinct delegates, and how to manage stress.
Our Women’s Council is extending the invitation to attend this event to all our active and retired members in good standing in Region 1. All our local unions are strongly encouraged to participate.
