As we move into May, UAW Region 1 is proud to share a full schedule of meetings, trainings, and opportunities for member engagement. We encourage all members to stay informed, get involved, and take part in the important work happening across our region.

Throughout the month, Region 1 will host a variety of meetings focused on retiree engagement and committee work, including the Retired Workers Executive Board, Legislative Committee, Consumers Affairs, and Education Committee meetings. These gatherings ensure that our retired members remain informed, connected, and actively represented.

A key highlight this month is the Region 1 Candidate Screening for the 2026 Michigan Primary Election, taking place May 4th–7th. This process plays an important role in our union’s democratic engagement and political action efforts.

In addition, members are encouraged to participate in several council and committee meetings, including the MLHS Meeting, Veteran’s Committee Meeting, and the Women’s Council Advisory Council Open Meeting. These events provide valuable opportunities for collaboration, leadership, and strengthening solidarity across our region.

We will also host the Retiree Seminar from May 11th–14th in Onaway, MI, offering members a chance to engage in meaningful discussions, education, and fellowship.

To close out the month, we invite members to attend the Solidarity Riders Blessing of the Bikes on May 31st in Warren, MI—an opportunity to come together in unity and celebration.

All meetings and events will be held in Warren, MI, unless otherwise noted. For additional details or questions, please reach out to the listed contacts for each event.

Let’s continue to stay engaged, support one another, and stand strong in solidarity. Your participation makes a difference.

In Solidarity,
UAW Region 1
