Standing Committees
GET INVOLVED WITH STANDING COMMITTEES
"There's a direct relationship between the ballot box and the bread box, and what the union fights for and wins at the bargaining table can be taken away in the legislative halls".
Walter Reuther
Standing committees are built with member's involvement, using their ideas, opinions and information to support common labor objectives that benefit working families. In cooperation with the local union executive board, they identify topics, programs and issues that are important to the membership, community, local union, international union and the entire labor movement. Members who choose to participate on a standing committee make significant contributions toward building strong locals and a more equitable society.
