About Us

UAW Local 653 was chartered in 1937 and has a rich history, rooted in the formation of the UAW, originally representing hourly workers at GM Pontiac Motor Division. Today the local proudly represents over 1,200 members at GM Milford Proving Grounds and Challenge Manufacturing.
