Effective Educator Training Held at Region 1
WARREN, MI - Region 1 proudly wrapped up a dynamic three-day Effective Educator training, uniting dedicated education committee members from local unions across the region. This initiative marked a significant step toward strengthening our union’s education program and empowering members to lead with confidence.
The training took place November 12–14, with two daily shifts to accommodate diverse work schedules and ensure maximum participation. Leading the sessions were an outstanding team of facilitators: Nadja Roivas from the International Union UAW Education Department, Roc Ciers from Region 1’s Education Department, and Nayeesha Conway, Local Union Discussion Leader (LUDL) and President from Local 155.
Designed to build strong, effective union educators, the program featured interactive modules, hands-on exercises, and collaborative discussions. Participants explored strategies for delivering clear, engaging instruction back at their locals while reinforcing the core principles of UAW education: empowerment, solidarity, and member-driven leadership.
The energy and enthusiasm throughout the training reflected Region 1 members’ unwavering commitment to collective growth and power. By investing in skilled educators, we strengthen our ability to support members, expand our movement, and defend the rights of working people everywhere.
Region 1 extends heartfelt appreciation to all participants for stepping up and contributing to this vital work. We look forward to offering this transformative training again in the near future.
