2019 Family Scholarship Program, July 21-26, 2019

The UAW Education Department will hold its 2019 Family Scholarship Program  at the  Walter and May Reuther UAW Family Education Center on July 21 -26, 2019.   As you know, the Family Scholarship Program is a special opportunity for members and their families to immerse themselves in our union’s history, goals and values.  This week-long family program is filled with fun, solidarity, education and relaxation.  Delegates of all ages learn the same concepts simultaneously, at an age appropriate level, which allows families to further bond with one another through discussion of the topics and connect with their local union’s goals and initiatives.  It has often been called a “life changing” week, and it has helped produce many activists.

The application for the 2019 Family Scholarship Program and rules can be downloaded here.  Members in good standing for one year who have never attended the Walter and May Reuther UAW Family Education Center Family Scholarship Program are eligible to apply.  Past participants in the Family Scholarship Program are not eligible to re-apply.  The program is designed to accommodate the UAW member, their spouse and their dependent children (ages 4 to 18).  The entire family must participate in all scheduled workshops and programs.

Members who are selected to attend will be responsible for their travel expenses to and from the UAW Family Education Center and must be willing to use their regular vacation, personal leave time, or union leave (where contract applies).  A complete list of eligibility rules and

instructions are outlined in detail on the application form.  Members will be notified if they are selected to attend or if their names are placed on a waiting list.

The scholarship application must be filled out completely and signed by the local union president or financial secretary.  All completed forms along with a check in the amount of   $50 made  payable  to  the “UAW  Family  Education  Center” are  to  be  mailed no later  than  June 7, 2019 to:
