2018 UAW Health & Safety Conference, June 3-8, 2018

The 2018 UAW Health & Safety Conference will be held at the Walter and May Reuther UAW Family Education Center from Sunday, June 3 through Friday, June 8, 2018.

This conference will provide significant education and training needed by health & safety representatives, health & safety committee members and local union representatives that have health and safety responsibilities.  New curriculum this year includes courses offered through OSHA Training Institute Education Center (OTIEC).  These include:

  • Introduction to Accident Investigation #7505
  • Understanding OSHA’s Permit Required Confined Space Standard #7300
  • Lockout/Tagout #7115
  • Transitioning to Safer Chemicals #7225
  • Health Hazard Awareness #7205
  • Introduction to Safety and Health Management #7500
  • Recordkeeping Rule Seminar #7845

Credits earned taking these courses can be applied towards the Health and Safety “Specialist” and “Professional” credentials issued by the Great Lakes OTIEC.  Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) will also be issued for those maintaining professional credentials.
