We are pleased to announce that UAW Region 1 will be hosting our 14th Annual Car Show to be held on Sunday, September 15, 2013, with all proceeds are used to help area Veterans and their families.

The Region 1 Veterans Council organizes clothing drives for homeless veterans and distributes gifts to the veterans at the Detroit V.A. Hospital. The Council is also involved in fundraising for the Michigan Vietnam Memorial in Lansing and the Veterans Memorials in Pontiac and Warren.

Region 1’s veterans are actively involved in sending phone cards and care packages to our deployed troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Veteran’s Council is an intricate part of society displaying respect for the veteran’s contribution to our country. Each veteran deserves this acknowledgement; this is why it is so important to help replenish their funds. Please join us in our endeavor.
